Le doigt dans l’oeil
Située au coeur du réservoir Manicouagan sur la Côte-Nord, l’île René-Levasseur est le vestige du cinquième plus grand impact de météorite sur la Terre et une portion encore vierge de la forêt boréale. L’octroi d’un permis d’exploitation forestière sur ce territoire ancestral de la nation innue déclenche un bras de fer idéologique, économique, juridique et politique ; confrontant ainsi les prétentions et les ambitions des uns et des autres. Le documentaire Le doigt dans l'oeil démystifie l'engouement que provoque ce « territoire symbole » pour tous les protagonistes impliqués dans ce conflit et met en lumière les principaux défis auxquels est confronté le Québec moderne.

Located in the heart of the Manicouagan Reservoir on the North Shore, Île René-Levasseur is the remnant of the fifth largest meteorite impact on Earth and a still untouched portion of the boreal forest. The granting of a logging permit on this ancestral territory of an Innu nation triggers an ideological, economic, legal and political struggle; thus confronting the pretensions and ambitions of each other. The documentary Le doigt dans l'oeil demystifies the craze generated by this "symbol territory" for all the protagonists of the conflict and highlights the main challenges facing modern Quebec.
