Emily is the root cause of two devastating tragedies very early in her life. She feels the weight of these accidents like a curse has been placed upon her. Her dad suggests she go to a Camp for troubled youth to ease her guilt; she can be a counsellor there. When Emily arrives, she is taken in by the other counselors, they accept her as she is and wrap her in a veil of peace & forgiveness. Emily stands at the forefront of a new kind of life, but there’s a voice out there in the woods she can’t quite seem to ignore. The voice is whispering, she’s telling Emily to go home.
Avalon Fast / Director and Writer
Avalon Fast is a writer and director from Vancouver Island, BC. In 2019 they shot their first no-budget genre film, Honeycomb. Honeycomb went on to be a part of the 2022 official Slamdance festival selection and from there continued a festival tour including Boston Underground, Calgary Underground, Etheria LA, Fantasia, and many more. Avalon began writing their second feature CAMP in 2022 which was financed in December 2023 and shot in June of 2024. CAMP is now in post-production and Avalon has begun the process of creating a new story to develop into a screenplay. Avalon refers to their genre of filmmaking as GIRL HORROR, as their stories focus on the eerie horrors of growing up, specifically with female influence.
Taylor Nodrick / Producer
Taylor Nodrick is a Producer, Writer, and Director who entered the industry working in the Art Department of indie films shot in Alberta. Their tenure in the Art Department peaked in 2023 after serving as Production Designer on the feature films Department of Paranormal Affairs for Dept 9 Studios and Rob Grant’s This Too Shall Pass, for which they received an AMPIA nomination. They have also directed and produced several independent horror shorts, including the AMPIA-nominated Herring of a Crimson Scale (2021), the Etheria Underground official selection Cinephile Complex (directed by Avalon Fast) in 2023, and the Fantasia, Brooklyn Horror Festival and Fantaspoa official selection Cease to Exist in 2024. Having completed the CMPA’s Production Mentorship Program with Michael Peterson of Peterson Polaris Corp in 2022, they produced their first feature film, Shadow of God, in the fall of 2023, premiered at Fantaspoa and launched on Shudder in 2025. In the summer of 2024 they produced, Avalon Fast’s CAMP and Kurtis David Harder’s Influencers back to back which are set to world premiere respecitvely at Fantastic Fest, and Fantasia in 2025.
Jacob Glickman / Producer
Jacob Glickman is a producer based in Vancouver, British Columbia. He began his filmmaking journey in 2016 at NYFA’s youth summer program. In 2018, he was a camera operator on director Avalon Fast’s debut feature, Honeycomb, which later premiered at Slamdance and Fantasia in 2022. He went on to work as an associate producer on This Too Shall Pass (dir. Rob Grant, 2023) and as a key PA on Shadow of God (dir. Mike Peterson). Jacob’s first two producer credits—CAMP, directed by Avalon Fast, and Drinking and Driving, co-written and directed by Avalon Fast and Jillian Frank—are currently in post-production. On the latter, he also served as cinematographer.
Jackie De Niverville / Producer
Jackie de Niverville is an emerging creative producer and founder of the production company Lucent. She founded Lucent in 2021 to develop emerging filmmakers and create innovative and uncompromising works. Lucent’s projects include ‘Ikebana’ a short experimental documentary, directed by Rita Ferrando which played IFFR, True/False and Sheffield Documentary Festival in 2022. As well as, Tehranto a feature film directed by Faran Moradi which played in Canadian and American theatres in 2022. And more recently, a short film titled “Every Other Weekend” directed by Mick Robertson and Margaret Rose which premiered at TIFF in September 2024.
Martin Cadieux-Rouillard / Producer
Martin Cadieux-Rouillard is a Montreal-based producer, sound designer and the founder of Montreal's Liquid Love Records, a cornerstone of the city's musical landscape. His recent work in film includes: War on Science (CBC, Canada), Who I Am Not (SXSW Official Selection, Thessaloniki Documentary Festival Winner of Silver Alexander Prize), Montréal Girls (Cinequest Official Selection), H2: The Occupation Lab (DocAviv, FIPADOC, FIFDH Geneva Official Selection), Film: The Living Record of Our Memory (DocNYC, SEMINICI, Sao Paulo international film festival, 50 plays in international festivals and museums), and Antisémitismes which aired primetime on ARTE in France, to name a few. Martin's creative journey reflects the depth of his multifaceted artistic career. Through his music and work in film, he embarks on a voyage of self-expressionism, delving with both traditional and modern approaches while steadfastly following his passion. His work traverse the gamut of emotions, from the most visceral tones to the gentlest textures, all with the ultimate objective of eliciting profound feelings.He is one of the up-and-coming, most influential voices in today’s Montreal cultural industry.
Maya Cadieux-Rouillard / Producer
Maya Cadieux-Rouillard is a Montreal-based producer and Development Executive. She has been an integral part of the Filmoption team since 2016. With a cultural background that naturally gravitated towards the study of Arts (BA) with a Major in Linguistics, Maya cultivated a strong proficiency in analyzing narrative structures. This foundation led her to immerse herself in the dynamic cultural industry, specifically focusing on the development of feature films and documentary productions. Her recent credits include School of Peace, Cause You’re Ugly, Tropicana (Israel–Canada co-productions), Godless (Brazil–Canada), I Shall Not Hate (CBC, TVA), War on Science (CBC), Who I Am Not (SXSW, Thessaloniki Silver Alexander), The Longest Goodbye (Sundance, Hot Docs), Polaris (Fantasia Opening Film), Spirit Animal (Italy–Portugal–Canada), and Crépuscule pour un tueur (CRAVE, SRC). She brings a sharp eye and cross-cultural insight to every project she touches, strengthening the quality and resonance of the stories Filmoption brings to screen.
